Senegal Launches PLANETE 3 to Advance Digital Transformation in Education
The Ministry of National Education of Senegal has officially launched the new version of its national educational platform, PLANETE 3, marking a major milestone in the country’s digital education transformation strategy.
Unveiled during a high-level ceremony attended by students, teachers, parents, unions, academic authorities, and development partners, the launch of PLANETE 3 reinforces Senegal’s commitment to harnessing technology and data intelligence to modernise its education system.
A Data-Centred Approach to Strengthen Education Management
PLANETE 3 introduces a data-driven framework for managing and improving the national education system. By integrating data analytics, monitoring tools, and digital infrastructure, the platform enables better decision-making, transparency, and accountability in education governance.
Through PLANETE 3, the Ministry aims to:
- Enhance the management of educational resources nationwide.
- Monitor school performance and learning outcomes more effectively.
- Improve communication and coordination between teachers, students, and administrators.
- Build a comprehensive database to inform policy and ensure equitable access to quality education.
This approach represents a strategic leap toward a smarter and more connected education ecosystem in Senegal.
Empowering Schools Through Digital Innovation
PLANETE 3 supports the government’s broader objective to integrate technology into classrooms and school management systems. With digital tools and data at its core, the platform will help track student progress, optimise resource allocation, and identify performance gaps in real time.
By embracing digital transformation in education, Senegal positions itself as a regional leader in edtech innovation and data-informed educational governance.
A Vision for an Inclusive and Modern Education Sector
The launch of PLANETE 3 reflects the government’s long-term vision to build an inclusive, equitable, and innovative education system that prepares Senegalese youth for the challenges of the digital age.
The initiative aligns with Senegal’s Digital Strategy 2025, which prioritises education as a key driver of socio-economic development and national competitiveness.
Through partnerships with technical and financial institutions, the Ministry of National Education continues to promote digital inclusion, ensuring that every child, regardless of location, benefits from high-quality education supported by modern technology.
