Binance’s BNB Ranks the World’s 2nd Best Investment Asset with 2,065% Growth in 5 Years

Binance’s BNB token has been named the second-best-performing investment asset globally over the past five years, recording an impressive 2,065% increase in value between 2020 and 2025. This finding comes from a recent report by trading firm Atmos, which analysed the five-year performance of major cryptocurrencies, tech stocks, defence shares, gold, and real estate.

According to the study, only Solana (SOL) surpassed Binance’s BNB in returns, soaring 4,166% during the same period. This remarkable rise positions BNB among the world’s most profitable assets, outpacing traditional markets and even top-performing cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum.

Binance Coin’s Explosive Growth Reflects Crypto Market Maturity

In 2020, Binance Coin (BNB) traded at $39.48. By 2025, its price had skyrocketed to $854.91, demonstrating both the resilience and expanding influence of the Binance ecosystem and the broader crypto industry.

BNB’s growth trajectory wasn’t without volatility — the token peaked at $690 in 2021, saw a correction, and later recovered to achieve new highs. This recovery underscores BNB’s strength as one of the most reliable and high-performing digital assets in the market.

The Atmos report places BNB ahead of Ethereum (605%) and Bitcoin (284%), both of which saw substantial gains but not at the same pace. Ethereum’s price rose from $621 in 2020 to about $4,380 in 2025, while Bitcoin climbed from $28,949 to $126,000.

Despite Bitcoin’s dominance in market capitalisation, BNB’s percentage growth demonstrates how alternative blockchain assets are capturing investors’ confidence and reshaping digital finance.

Traditional Stocks Lag Behind BNB and Solana

While traditional investments performed well over the same period, their returns pale in comparison to the astronomical gains of crypto assets.

  • Meta Platforms (Facebook) stock gained 170%.
  • Microsoft appreciated by 134%.
  • Defence manufacturers like BAE Systems and Kratos Defence saw solid gains amid rising global military spending.

Yet, none matched the exponential performance of BNB and Solana, which have outperformed nearly every conventional investment category.

BNB’s Success Driven by Utility and Tokenomics

BNB’s success is closely linked to the BNB Chain (formerly Binance Smart Chain), which serves as the foundation for decentralised finance (DeFi) projects, token launches, and blockchain-based applications.

Its deflationary tokenomics model, where Binance routinely burns a portion of the BNB supply, has also contributed to sustained price growth by increasing scarcity over time.

“The democratisation of investing through online platforms and apps has brought millions of new participants into markets,” said Nick Cooke, CEO of Atmos. “Today’s young savers are starting in their twenties instead of their forties, giving them much longer wealth-building horizons. They’re also more open to including cryptocurrencies alongside stocks, which can yield higher long-term returns.”

The Future of Investing: Beyond Traditional Assets

BNB’s five-year performance highlights a fundamental shift in modern investing, one where blockchain networks and digital assets are redefining wealth creation.

As crypto adoption deepens and regulatory clarity improves, tokens like BNB are evolving from speculative plays into core portfolio assets, challenging the dominance of traditional blue-chip stocks.

With its strong fundamentals, real-world utility, and global brand power, BNB is cementing its position as a cornerstone of the digital economy and a symbol of crypto’s growing maturity.
