3MTT: Ministry Launches Portal to Connect Employers with Vetted Digital Trainees

The Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation & Digital Economy (FMCIDE) has unveiled a new 3MTT–NJFP Placement Initiative, a digital platform designed to connect employers across Nigeria with thousands of vetted, job-ready digital talents trained under the 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) program.

The initiative aims to bridge the gap between skilled young Nigerians and employment opportunities in the digital economy, offering businesses access to a pool of pre-screened, qualified candidates at no cost.

Empowering Nigeria’s Digital Workforce

Under the leadership of Dr Bosun Tijani, Honourable Minister of Communications, Innovation & Digital Economy, the 3MTT–NJFP Placement Initiative represents a key milestone in Nigeria’s mission to develop a robust, globally competitive digital workforce.

Supported by the European Union (EU), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and the Nigeria Jubilee Fellows Programme (NJFP), the initiative provides employers with direct access to trained digital professionals across multiple disciplines, including:

  • Software Development
  • Product Design
  • Data Analysis
  • Digital Marketing

“This partnership is a key step in connecting Nigeria’s growing digital talent base with meaningful employment,” Dr. Tijani said. “Through the 3MTT–NJFP Placement Initiative, we are bridging the gap between skilled Nigerians and the organisations that need their expertise to grow and compete globally.”

No-Cost Recruitment for Employers

Participating companies can recruit top-tier digital talent from the 3MTT pool without incurring recruitment, onboarding, or placement fees. Each candidate has been pre-vetted and trained under globally recognised standards to ensure they meet industry needs.

The new portal streamlines the entire hiring process, from candidate matching and selection to placement and onboarding — enabling organisations to easily tap into Nigeria’s expanding digital talent pipeline.

Driving Job Creation and Digital Inclusion

The 3MTT–NJFP Placement Initiative builds on the government’s broader 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) program, which was launched to train three million Nigerians in critical technology skills such as cloud computing, cybersecurity, data science, and product management.

By connecting graduates of the program directly with employers, the Ministry is ensuring that digital skills translate into real job opportunities, strengthening Nigeria’s digital economy and reducing youth unemployment.

The collaboration also reinforces Nigeria’s commitment to inclusive growth, ensuring that both urban and rural talents gain access to digital employment pathways.

A Gateway to Nigeria’s Digital Future

Through the new 3MTT–NJFP Placement Portal, the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation & Digital Economy is not only transforming how Nigerian businesses hire but also shaping the future of work in Africa’s largest economy.

Employers can now seamlessly access pre-screened, skilled professionals, while young Nigerians gain equitable access to job opportunities in the country’s growing digital ecosystem.
