China’s Commerce Minister Meets Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang to Discuss AI Collaboration and Foreign Investment
China’s Commerce Minister Wang Wentao met with Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang on Thursday, emphasising China’s commitment to foreign investment and deeper cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence (AI). According to an official statement from China’s Ministry of Commerce, the government hopes multinational companies like Nvidia will provide high-quality, reliable products and services to Chinese customers.
Nvidia Seeks to Expand AI Cooperation in China
During his third visit to China in 2025, Jensen Huang described the Chinese market as “very attractive” and expressed Nvidia’s willingness to deepen partnerships with Chinese firms in AI technologies.
At a press conference in Beijing on Wednesday, Huang praised Chinese AI models from:

- Tencent

China’s Commerce Ministry confirmed that the U.S. government has agreed to approve sales of Nvidia’s H20 AI chips to Chinese clients. These chips were recently removed from U.S. export restrictions:
