Apex Group Appoints Tom Bennett as Global Head of Fintech to Drive Digital Strategy
Apex Group, a global financial services provider with approximately $3.1 trillion in assets under management (AUM), has named Tom Bennett as its new global head of fintech. Bennett will oversee the firm’s fintech strategy, focusing on expanding digital capabilities across private markets, capital markets, and digital assets.
His responsibilities will include the development of innovative solutions for capital raising, risk management, accounting, digital onboarding, and the launch of a new sustainability platform. Bennett emphasised his vision of building a future-ready platform that integrates traditional finance (TradFi) and decentralised finance (DeFi) through tokenisation and AI-powered tools.
Before joining Apex Group, Bennett served as group head of innovation at the Aztec Group, a fund administrator, for four years. He also held senior roles at BT Group and JLL, where he was COO of Central London markets.
This appointment follows Apex Group’s continued investment in digital innovation, including the recent acquisition of FTS Tech (Flow), a private markets software provider managing $17 billion in AUM. That acquisition was built upon a strategic partnership launched in November 2024, which led to the development of Apex Ventures, a software platform tailored for venture capital managers.
Additionally, in May 2024, the firm brought on SS&C GlobeOp executive Ken Fullerton as Global Head of Operational Transformation, further demonstrating its commitment to technological advancement and operational excellence.
