Infinix NOTE Edge Makes Global Debut as First Smartphone Powered by MediaTek Dimensity 7100

Infinix has unveiled the NOTE Edge, marking a major milestone as the world’s first smartphone powered by the new MediaTek Dimensity 7100 chipset, a move aimed at bringing next-generation performance and 5G connectivity to a wider audience.

Developed in close partnership with MediaTek, the NOTE Edge also debuts XOS 16, Infinix’s first in-house operating system based on Android 16, signalling a significant step forward in the brand’s push into the premium-accessible smartphone segment.

According to Infinix, the Dimensity 7100 chipset has been co-optimized with MediaTek to deliver stable 5G performance while maintaining low power consumption, enabling all-day efficiency without compromising speed or reliability.

Despite the global rollout of 5G networks, the experience remains inconsistent in many markets due to high device costs, uneven spectrum availability, and performance limitations—particularly outside the flagship category. Infinix says the NOTE Edge is designed to bridge that gap by offering a true 5G experience at near-4G pricing, making advanced connectivity more attainable for everyday users.

By combining a next-generation chipset with a newly developed operating system, Infinix positions the NOTE Edge as a key expansion of its product lineup, reinforcing its strategy of democratising cutting-edge technology without pushing prices into premium territory.

The launch underscores Infinix’s growing ambition to compete beyond entry-level devices, targeting consumers who want flagship-grade performance, modern software, and reliable 5G—without the flagship price tag.
