Moniepoint Launches Second Cohort of DreamDevs to Develop Africa’s Tech Talent
Moniepoint Inc, a leading African digital financial services provider, has officially opened applications for the second cohort of its flagship DreamDevs initiative, a programme designed to bridge the continent’s tech talent gap by equipping graduates with industry-ready skills and real-world experience.
The initiative is a national talent search across Nigeria, targeting graduates in technology, computer science, engineering, and related fields who have foundational programming knowledge in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Intensive Bootcamp and Career Pathways
The DreamDevs programme selects just 20 high-potential candidates each year for an intensive nine-week bootcamp, led by experienced software engineers.
Top performers earn six-month internship placements at Moniepoint, with opportunities to transition into full-time employment based on performance.
The first cohort proved successful, producing four hires, including three interns and one full-time engineer, validating DreamDevs as a high-impact talent pipeline for Africa’s tech ecosystem.

Felix Ike, Co-Founder and CTO of Moniepoint, highlighted the programme’s achievements:

Complementing Broader Talent Development Initiatives
DreamDevs complements Moniepoint’s other talent programmes, including:
- HatchDev, in partnership with NITHub Unilag, produces 500 developers annually across software engineering, intelligent systems, and IoT/embedded systems.
- Women-in-Tech programme, now in its fifth year, is promoting gender diversity in tech.
The initiative also supports the Federal Government’s 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) programme, providing a specialised pathway from training to employment.
