Windhoek, August 23, 2025 – MTC Namibia has officially launched its 5G network, making it the first telecommunications operator in Namibia to roll out next-generation mobile technology.
The 5G service is currently live in Ongwediva, Swakopmund, Walvis Bay, and Windhoek, with plans for a nationwide rollout in the coming months.

MTC Namibia said the launch of 5G represents a major leap in digital transformation, promising faster internet speeds, enhanced reliability, and support for emerging technologies.
“The connectivity power and seamlessness that come with 5G is exactly what we need in propelling the digitisation of enterprise solutions, Internet of Things (IoT), cybersecurity, cloud computing, and payments, thereby enhancing business operations, efficiency, and fostering innovation and scalability,” the company stated.
