MTN Marks 300 Million Customers with New AI Collaboration with Microsoft
MTN Group, Africa’s leading mobile operator, has announced a landmark partnership with Microsoft to expand access to artificial intelligence–powered learning and productivity tools across the continent. The collaboration comes as MTN celebrates surpassing 300 million customers, one of the most significant milestones in the company’s history.
The initiative aims to democratise access to Microsoft 365 with Copilot, an AI-enabled solution that enhances research, writing, communication and collaboration across devices. By integrating Copilot into MTN’s ecosystem, millions of Africans will gain access to tools that boost digital skills and enable fuller participation in the digital economy.
AI Tools to Boost Productivity and Online Safety
The offering includes Microsoft’s advanced security features, designed to keep users safer online through protection against phishing, data loss and emerging cyberthreats. These built-in capabilities are supported by continuous device monitoring, helping users navigate the digital world with more confidence.
MTN Group President and CEO Ralph Mupita noted that Africa’s growth will be increasingly defined by how effectively its people engage with digital technologies.
“Africa’s growth will increasingly be shaped by how effectively its people can participate in the digital world. This new collaboration strengthens that trajectory. Working together, we will open new pathways for innovation and opportunity that will define the continent’s next phase of progress.”
