MTN Launches 2025 Y’ello Care to Bridge Digital Gaps in Underserved Communities

MTN Group has officially launched the 2025 edition of its flagship volunteerism campaign, 21 Days of Y’ello Care, set to run from 1–21 June 2025. Now in its 18th year, the initiative continues to be a cornerstone of MTN’s commitment to social impact, digital inclusion, and employee-driven community engagement across Africa and beyond.

Empowering Communities Through Digital Tools

The 2025 Y’ello Care theme, “Connecting at the Roots – Connecting communities through the use of digital tools,” directly tackles the persistent challenge of digital exclusion in rural, remote, and underserved regions. These areas often suffer from limited internet access, which restricts education, healthcare, financial services, and economic participation, with women, youth, persons with disabilities, and displaced populations among the most affected. Through employee-led projects, MTN aims to leverage technology and innovation to unlock connectivity, ensuring equitable access to the digital world.

A Legacy of Impact: 18 Years of Y’ello Care

Since its inception, Y’ello Care has mobilized thousands of MTN employees to deliver initiatives focused on education, health, youth development, and economic empowerment. Over the last six years, the campaign has:

  • Impacted 107,034 lives
  • Engaged 14,376 MTN volunteers
  • Delivered 56,306 hours of community service

These figures underscore MTN’s long-standing belief in grassroots change powered by its people.
