NTT DATA Partners with Fortanix to Launch Cryptography-as-a-Service for Enterprise Data Protection
NTT DATA, a global leader in digital business and technology services, has partnered with Fortanix® Inc., a global data security leader for an AI-driven world, to launch a groundbreaking Cryptography-as-a-Service (CaaS) offering. The new service aims to help enterprises safeguard sensitive data, counter emerging AI threats, and prepare for post-quantum cryptography challenges.
The collaboration combines Fortanix’s Data Security Manager Platform with NTT DATA’s cybersecurity expertise, deep industry knowledge, and strong capabilities in AI and data protection. Together, the two organisations will deliver a comprehensive solution designed to strengthen enterprise data security across AI, cloud, and hybrid environments.
Addressing the Next Frontier of Data Security
Through this global agreement, NTT DATA’s Cryptography-as-a-Service becomes part of its expanding Data Security Services portfolio, empowering organisations to address modern cybersecurity risks and future-proof their encryption systems.
The joint solution provides crypto-agility, enabling enterprises to swiftly identify and replace vulnerable cryptographic algorithms with quantum-safe alternatives. This approach ensures that companies are well-positioned for the post-quantum era, when traditional encryption may no longer be secure against quantum computing attacks.
Powered by Fortanix’s Confidential Computing technology, the platform encrypts data at rest, in motion, and in use, a critical advantage for securing sensitive information in AI, multicloud, and hybrid environments. Its unified security architecture also enhances visibility, compliance, and regulatory reporting through centralised policy control and auditing capabilities.
Building Quantum-Ready Enterprises
NTT DATA’s new service delivers full lifecycle support, beginning with a customised data security assessment for each client. This includes evaluating cryptographic maturity, building risk assessment frameworks, and developing a crypto-agility roadmap. The service then progresses through the implementation of the Fortanix platform and ongoing managed services to maintain continuous protection.
Cathy Huang, Senior Research Director at IDC, emphasised the urgency for enterprises to begin preparing now:
“Enterprises that fail to prepare for the post-quantum era risk data breaches, operational disruptions, regulatory penalties, and a fundamental erosion of customer trust. Organizations must start now with cryptographic discovery, risk assessments, and migration roadmaps to secure themselves from future quantum-aided attacks.”
This proactive approach underscores the rising importance of quantum readiness and the need for organizations to adapt their cybersecurity strategies in anticipation of next-generation threats.
Empowering Innovation While Ensuring Security
According to NTT DATA, the new CaaS offering will empower enterprises, particularly in highly regulated industries such as finance, healthcare, and government, to safeguard sensitive data while embracing innovation in AI and digital transformation.
“Enterprises face mounting pressure to protect data while navigating the rapidly evolving AI landscape,” said an NTT DATA spokesperson. “Our partnership with Fortanix brings together complementary strengths to mitigate risks across multifaceted environments, unlock innovation in AI, and prepare for the post-quantum era with crypto-agility.”
By leveraging this partnership, NTT DATA and Fortanix are helping organisations modernise their cybersecurity infrastructures, achieve compliance with emerging data protection standards, and build resilience against future quantum-powered threats.
Future-Proofing Enterprise Security
As AI and quantum computing redefine cybersecurity, Cryptography-as-a-Service emerges as a strategic solution for enterprises seeking both flexibility and future readiness. The NTT DATA–Fortanix partnership sets a new benchmark in data protection, helping organisations worldwide transition to quantum-safe encryption while maintaining operational efficiency and trust.
This initiative positions both companies as pioneers in data security innovation, empowering businesses to move confidently into the next era of digital transformation.
