OPay Opens New Ibadan Office to Strengthen Nationwide Expansion and Boost Customer Support

OPay Opens New Ibadan Office as It Deepens Nationwide Expansion

OPay has unveiled a newly upgraded office in Ibadan as part of its broader effort to expand physical support centres across Nigeria. The new facility is designed to improve service delivery for merchants, SMEs, corporate clients, and millions of OPay users in Oyo State. The launch event attracted business leaders, partners, agents, and stakeholders from across the fintech ecosystem.

The Ibadan branch is the first fully redesigned office under OPay’s renovation initiative. With 28 offices in 25 states, the company plans to upgrade all locations to this new standard over the next year. The centre will serve as a strategic hub for customer support, merchant engagement, onboarding, and product demonstrations.

OPay Reaffirms Commitment to Accessible Financial Services

During the event, OPay executives stated that the new office aligns with the company’s mission to offer safe, secure, and inclusive financial services. The centre caters to customers who prefer in-person interactions, complementing the company’s strong online support channels.

OPay’s Chief Commercial Officer, Elizabeth Wang, explained that while the majority of OPay transactions occur online, a significant number of Nigerians still prefer visiting a physical office for certain services. The upgraded Ibadan centre was designed to meet this demand and ensure a consistent and reliable service experience nationwide.

Wang also confirmed that the Ibadan office is the first of several remodelled branches that will open across the country in the coming months.

Improved Customer Engagement and Merchant Services

OPay executives highlighted that the new Ibadan office will strengthen customer connections and enhance merchant support.
Odiase Ikponmwosa, Head of Partnerships, noted that the redesigned centre will improve customer engagement, streamline feedback, and help users resolve issues more efficiently.

The facility is expected to be especially beneficial for SMEs and business owners who require in-person assistance. It will also simplify merchant onboarding, expand SME support, and offer a dedicated space for product testing and demonstrations.

Supporting Nigeria’s Financial Inclusion Goals

The expansion comes as OPay continues to champion financial inclusion across Nigeria. With over 20 million daily active users, the fintech processes a wide range of financial services at scale, including payments, transfers, savings, lending, and merchant operations.

OPay is licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), insured by the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC), and has introduced advanced security features such as Face ID authentication and enhanced fraud protection to safeguard users.
