PUBG MOBILE Expands in Africa: Local Servers, Cultural Features, and Regional Tournaments in 2025
PUBG MOBILE, one of the world’s most popular mobile games, is doubling down on its commitment to African gamers with a major regional expansion. Under the theme “For Africa, By Africa,” PUBG MOBILE has introduced new local servers, culturally inspired in-game features, and continent-wide community events—all designed to enhance gameplay while celebrating African identity.
Local PUBG MOBILE Servers Now Live in Nigeria and South Africa
For the first time, PUBG MOBILE has launched dedicated servers in Nigeria and South Africa. This upgrade delivers:
- Lower latency for faster gameplay
- Improved connection stability
- A new Server Node Selection feature allows players to choose between African and global matchmaking options
“We’ve introduced a Server Node Selection feature based on diverse African player needs,” said Brian Gu, Head of PUBG MOBILE Africa. “With one tap, you can now enjoy millisecond-precise responsiveness.”
PUBG MOBILE is now among the first global games to invest in African server infrastructure, reinforcing its long-term commitment to the continent.
New African-Inspired In-Game Features
Maasai Shuka Outfit
Players can now wear the new Maasai Shuka-themed outfit, inspired by the vibrant colours and cultural significance of the Maasai tribe. It’s a bold fusion of fashion, heritage, and competitive gaming.
Afro Frenzy Emote
Inspired by the viral Mapangale dance from TikTok, PUBG MOBILE has introduced the Afro Frenzy emote. This new emote brings African pop culture directly into the game, letting players celebrate in style after every win.
Mancala Mini-Game
Soon, players will enjoy a digital version of Mancala, one of Africa’s oldest and most popular board games. This feature honours African heritage while offering strategic fun outside of battle mode.
Community Events, Giveaways, and Tournaments
PUBG MOBILE is also launching an exciting calendar of events and rewards tailored to African players:
- Airdrop Festival Carnival: Kicking off in July 2025, with prizes including Infinix smartphones and Oraimo accessories.
- Africa Cup Tournament: National teams are currently competing, with the grand finals set for September 6–7.
- TikTok x PUBGM Dance Challenge (August 2025): Fans can showcase their dance moves for a chance to win weekly Infinix smartphones.
Each month will feature new events and rewards, ensuring ongoing engagement for the African PUBG MOBILE community.
PUBG MOBILE’s Vision for Africa
PUBG MOBILE’s 2025 Africa expansion isn’t just about improving gameplay. It represents a broader movement of co-creation and feedback-driven development involving millions of African players. “This isn’t just an update. It’s a milestone —the result of co-creation, feedback, and the passion of millions of African players,” PUBG MOBILE said in a statement.
