T2 Partners India’s Knot Solutions in Multi-Million Dollar Deal to Modernise Telecom Systems

Introduction: T2 Signs Multi-Million Dollar Deal with Knot Solutions

Telecommunications company T2 (formerly 9mobile) has entered into a multi-million-dollar partnership with India’s Knot Solutions to modernise its Business Support Systems (BSS) and Operations Support Systems (OSS).

The deal was announced by T2’s Chief Executive Officer, Obafemi Banigbe, during the GITEX Nigeria Tech Expo and Future Economy Conference in Lagos on Wednesday.

T2’s Four-Phase Transformation Strategy

Banigbe explained that the partnership with Knot Solutions is a key part of T2’s four-phase transformation strategy:

  1. Stabilisation
  2. Modernisation
  3. Transformation
  4. Growth

“This is not just a system upgrade. It is a customer-first revolution that transforms how people interact with their digital world—seamlessly, instantly, and on their terms,” Banigbe said.

The move reflects T2’s ambition to reinvent itself and re-establish its competitiveness in Nigeria’s dynamic telecom industry.

T2 Expands Beyond Traditional Telecom Services

T2 is evolving from being just a mobile operator to becoming a digital lifestyle and connectivity platform. Banigbe revealed that the company is expanding its services to include:

  • Voice and data services
  • Digital financial services
  • Content and cloud solutions
  • Lifestyle products

“We are building an ecosystem where connectivity unlocks possibilities across entertainment, education, commerce, and financial empowerment,” Banigbe added.

Knot Solutions to Power T2’s Digital Future

Sumanth Konuru, CEO of Knot Solutions, emphasised that Africa’s telecom market is evolving rapidly, with BSS/OSS modernisation playing a central role in driving transformation.

Through Knot’s flagship cloud-native platform, RaptrDXP™, T2 will be able to:

  • Move beyond rigid telecom models
  • Deliver real-time billing and tailored service bundles
  • Create hyper-personalised customer experiences

“This partnership is about more than efficiency—it’s about creating unmatched experiences. T2 customers will enjoy a smarter, more intuitive digital journey,” Konuru said.

Nigerian Telecom Industry Sees Renewed Investment

T2’s announcement comes at a time when the Nigerian telecom industry is witnessing major investments to meet the rising demand for data and digital services.

  • In August 2025, T2 signed another multi-million-dollar deal with Huawei to modernise its core network infrastructure.
  • The company also recently rebranded from 9mobile to T2 after years of turbulence that saw its customer base decline from 23 million to under 3 million subscribers.
  • The Knot Solutions partnership is part of T2’s revival roadmap, aimed at restoring competitiveness and achieving long-term growth.

Conclusion: A New Era for T2 and Nigerian Telecom

The T2–Knot Solutions partnership marks a major milestone in T2’s transformation journey. By modernising its systems and expanding its digital ecosystem, T2 is positioning itself as a future-ready telecom provider that delivers seamless digital experiences to Nigerian customers.

With its multi-phase strategy, new global partnerships, and renewed focus on innovation, T2 is set to re-establish itself as a major player in Nigeria’s telecom industry.
