Lenovo to Establish Regional Headquarters in Saudi Arabia, Expands Middle East Presence

Chinese PC maker Lenovo Group has announced plans to set up a regional headquarters in Saudi Arabia, marking a major step in its strategy to strengthen its presence across the Middle East. The move underscores the company’s commitment to expanding operations in one of the world’s fastest-growing technology markets.

Lenovo’s New Saudi Arabia Headquarters

Lenovo confirmed the appointment of key executives to lead its Saudi operations:

  • Lawrence Yu, a Lenovo veteran, will head the new regional headquarters.
  • Giovanni Di Filippo has been named General Manager of Lenovo Saudi Arabia.
  • Zoran Radumilo will serve as the company’s Technology Chief in the region.

This leadership team is expected to drive Lenovo’s regional growth strategy and build stronger relationships with governments, enterprises, and consumers in the Middle East.

Local Manufacturing Facility in Saudi Arabia

As part of its expansion, Lenovo has partnered with a local company to build a manufacturing facility in Saudi Arabia, which will:

  • Produce PCs, laptops, smartphones, and servers.
  • Begin operations in 2026, boosting local production capabilities.
  • Support Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 initiative to strengthen the country’s role as a regional technology hub.

Lenovo’s AI Growth Outlook

Lenovo CEO Yang Yuanqing recently highlighted strong global demand for artificial intelligence (AI) across the company’s three major business segments. He emphasised that China’s AI infrastructure demand is outpacing the rest of the world, a trend that aligns with Lenovo’s increasing investment in AI-driven hardware and solutions.

The establishment of a regional base in Saudi Arabia will enable Lenovo to better tap into the growing adoption of AI in the Middle East, while also supporting its global AI growth strategy.

Outlook

Lenovo’s decision to set up a regional headquarters and manufacturing plant in Saudi Arabia reflects both its commitment to the Middle East market and the region’s growing importance in global technology supply chains. By localising production and expanding leadership presence, Lenovo aims to solidify its position as a leading PC and technology provider in the region.
