Tech Firm Donates Smart Boards to Boost Digital Learning in Unity Schools

Wowbii Infrastructure, a brand under Equipment Hall Limited, has donated 20 interactive smart boards to the Unity Schools Old Students Association (USOSA) in a move aimed at accelerating digital education across Nigeria’s Federal Unity Colleges.

The handover ceremony, held in Lagos on Saturday, marks a significant step toward modernising classroom learning and equipping students with tools suited for today’s digital-driven education system.

Bridging the gap in classroom technology

Founder and CEO of Wowbii Infrastructure, Gbolahan Olayomi, said the initiative is designed to transform outdated teaching methods and align learning environments with global standards.

“Learning has gone digital, yet many classrooms still rely on chalk and markers, while students are already digital natives,” Olayomi said.

He stressed that with examinations increasingly computer-based, providing students with the right tools is essential to prepare them for the future.

Driving access and inclusivity

According to Olayomi, the introduction of interactive boards will expand access to quality education and improve learning outcomes by enabling more engaging and flexible teaching methods.

“This technology is a leveller — it allows students to access the same quality of education regardless of their location,” he added.

He also commended ongoing government efforts to promote digital learning, while urging more stakeholders to support similar initiatives nationwide.

Old students association welcomes initiative

President-General of USOSA, Mike Magaji, expressed appreciation for the donation, noting that the devices will be deployed to selected unity schools across the country.

He acknowledged that while the current donation may reach about 20 schools, it could serve as a catalyst for wider adoption of digital tools in the education sector.

“We believe this will encourage others to recognise the importance of digital education and take steps to invest in it,” Magaji said.

Supporting national development through education

The Unity Schools Old Students Association, which supports over 100 federal unity colleges, has continued to invest in infrastructure projects ranging from classrooms to hostels and digital labs.

Stakeholders say initiatives like this highlight the growing role of private sector partnerships in strengthening Nigeria’s education system, while helping bridge the digital divide and prepare students for a technology-driven future.
