The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has officially closed the 2025 edition of its Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) Women in ICT Training, a programme launched in 2023 to empower Nigerian women in technology. The closing ceremony, presided over by Her Excellency, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, marked the culmination of weeks of intensive training across all six geopolitical zones of Nigeria: North Central, North East, North West, South East, South South, and Southwest.
Equipping Women With Digital Skills and Confidence
Throughout the initiative, participants gained essential digital skills, discovered their voices in the tech space, and built the confidence to navigate and shape their futures in an increasingly digital economy. The programme has reached hundreds of women nationwide, highlighting the transformative impact of equipping women with technological knowledge and opportunities.
NITDA’s Commitment to Digital Inclusion and Women’s Empowerment
NITDA Director General, Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, attended the ceremony and reaffirmed the agency’s dedication to digital inclusion and women’s empowerment. He emphasised the importance of providing Nigerian women with the tools and training needed to succeed in technology-driven industries.
“Equipping women with the necessary digital skills is essential for their participation in the growing digital economy and for driving national progress,” Abdullahi stated.
A Lasting Impact on Nigeria’s Digital Economy
While the closing ceremony marks the end of the 2025 edition, the impact of the Renewed Hope Initiative is expected to resonate for years to come. Women across Nigeria are now stepping confidently into the digital economy, prepared, empowered, and ready to contribute to technological innovation and national development.
