The Federal Government of Nigeria has announced the launch of the 3MTT National Impact Challenge, an initiative designed to empower over 1.8 million Nigerians currently enrolled in the 3 Million Technical Talent Programme (3MTT).
The announcement was made on Tuesday by Bosun Tijani, Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, via his official X (formerly Twitter) account, where he highlighted major milestones achieved during the programme’s pilot phase.
3MTT Enters Scale-Up Phase
According to the minister, the 3MTT programme is transitioning into its scale-up phase, following strong early results in building Nigeria’s digital talent pipeline.
Tijani disclosed that the initiative has so far:
- Trained over 135,000 Nigerians across three cohorts
- Extended learning resources to more than 300,000 additional learners through community platforms
- Contributed to the creation of 15,000 job and opportunity pathways
Beyond these achievements, he noted that over 1.8 million Nigerians are currently within the 3MTT pipeline, as the government works toward its broader goal of equipping three million citizens with in-demand digital skills.
“As we enter the scale-up phase of the programme, where we accelerate our spread towards our target, our focus is on deepening impact by strengthening the alumni community, expanding access to opportunity, and ensuring skills translate into real outcomes,” Tijani said.
